Fraud Awareness Volunteer - Forcewide

‘’Prevention is better than cure’’ Protecting the public from the threat of fraud has never been more important. Fraud is the most experienced crime in the UK equating to around 40% of all reported crime.
Most of the reported offences are preventable and the key to prevention is education.
Avon and Somerset Police are passionate about reducing the levels of fraud in our policing areas and equipping the public with the power and knowledge to protect themselves.
Our Fraud Awareness Volunteer will be appointed to help raise awareness of the threat of fraud, educate the public and build relationships between policing and our communities.

Eligibility-
You must be 18 years of age to apply
To be eligible to apply for this role you must have a 3 year ‘checkable history’ in the UK – ideally this means that you would have been resident in the UK for the last 3 years.
All applicants will be subject to the Force Vetting Policy and will be required to undertake and maintain the appropriate level of safeguarding training for the role.
Avon and Somerset Constabulary is fully committed to the safeguarding and promotion of welfare of children and young people. The role you have applied for requires you to undertake an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Check (DBS) every three years.

This role requires that at least one of your references is able to comment on your interactions with children and/or young people or/ vulnerable adults in a personal, voluntary or employment capacity. Please ensure that you consider this when completing your application.
