We are looking for someone to #JoinUs as a leadership and Talent Support Apprentice in our Learning and Development Department.

About the team/Department you will be joining:

 

  • We are a small team based in the Learning and Development department who coordinate, design and deliver development opportunities for our identified talent across the force.
  • We oversee talent development for our officers and staff aligned to our appraisal and promotion processes.
  • We mainly work either from Bridgend Headquarters or from home.
  • We usually work 9-5 Monday-Friday.

About the role and your key responsibilities:

To provide administrative support to the Leadership and Talent Development Manager and to the Performance and Organisational Development (OD) Manager who are responsible for the Talent Framework and the design and delivery of individual leadership and team development products.

Activities could include:

 

  • Supporting the new Talent Framework and the appraisal process, providing summary reports and data as required.
  • Managing and updating leadership, talent and organisational development pages of the Learning and Development internal website.
  • Coordinating meetings, events and invitations to development opportunities. providing administrative support as necessary.

What skills and experience do we need you to bring to the role:

  • We are keen to hear from you if you are highly competent with Microsoft systems and have previous administrative experience – particularly in Microsoft Excel.
  • We would welcome applicants who have a proactive approach to problem solving.
  • We would like to hear from you if you have the ability to work under pressure, to deadlines, exercising judgement.

It is essential that you can speak Welsh to a conversational level, or are willing to develop this skill during your employment with us.

Qualification Criteria

You must have a good standard of education to at least GCSE A-C Level, including Maths and English, or be able to demonstrate equivalent skills and abilities.

You must be prepared to work towards a qualification in a relevant subject e.g. Level 3 Business Administration or Level 3 CIPD (dependent on personal career aspirations).
