Who are we?
The National Economic Crime Victim Care Unit (NECVCU) is a focussed and targeted service providing victims of fraud and cyber-crime, a national standard of care and support, by working with forces at a local level to deliver a better service to victims.

About the team
The aim of NECVCU is for victims to feel safer and more confident following contact, whilst assisting them to cope and recover from the crime and to significantly reduce the likelihood of repeat victimisation. This also closes the gaps in the victim referral and support system, without duplicating work or effort whilst reducing demand on police forces.
About the role
The AF-NECVCU Team Leader is responsible for providing leadership and support to the Victim Care Reviewers in the AF-NECVCU. .
Responsibilities
Include but not exclusive to;
- To manage and support a customer focused service to victims of fraud giving prioritisation and direction as well as quality assuring the output and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external partners, at all levels.
- Responsibility for the day-to-day operations within the AF-NECVCU, ensuring processes are up to date, relevant and adhered to and turnaround for responses is done accurately, professionally and in a timely manner.
- Ensuring victim engagement is documented on management information systems
- To ensure that the needs of victims are met in this process and that the primary objectives of AF-NECVCU are achieved
- To provide suitable recommendations to other agencies and organisations to support victim needs.
Requirements
For this role, we need you to have experience of:
- Being able to work to agreed standards and procedures.
- Understanding of the crime recording and investigative process.
- Ability to analyse information and make assessment based on this.
- Good decision making skills including ability to think on feet and make sound decisions quickly and to have the ability to communicate undefined to Victim care reviewer and to victims to effectively manage their expectations.
- To be able to support the team in emotionally charged situations.

Selection Process
As part of the initial application process, you will be asked to evidence how your experience, skills, and knowledge demonstrate your ability to meet the person specification of the role.
The application and interview will be tested under Level 2 of the College of Policing Competency and Values Framework.
Applicants who fail to address the skills/knowledge/experience of the job description will not be considered.
