Investigation Officer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Investigation Officer on Operation Costello, the largest operation Bedfordshire Police has ever run to combat the highest levels of serious and organised crime across the county. The role involves agile working with a 50/50 split between home and work and will involve working alongside a team of highly dynamic, tenacious, and self-motivated individuals.

This is on a fixed term contract. until 31 Mar 26 or a Career Development Opportunity (with line management approval) for internal candidates. Please note: this end date is subject to a funding approval from the Home Office for the 2025/2026 financial year. Should funding not be approved this vacancy process will be cancelled.

Applications are invited from dynamic, tenacious and self-motivated individuals who have a keen interest in investigating serious and organised crime, you will have a proven track record of managing serious and complex investigations.

You would be working within a team of intelligence officers and other investigators and reporting to a Detective Sergeant in order to progress your investigations through the criminal justice system.

The post is 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
