We are looking for someone to #JoinUs as a Cyber Intern in our Cyber Crime Unit. Could you be who we are looking for?
About the team/Department you will be joining:
- The Cyber Crime Unit are a small team based in the Economic and Cyber Crime (ECCU) department who oversee the investigation of Cyber Crime offences.
- We mainly work from Bridgend and occasionally from home.
- We work 8-4 Monday-Friday though do sometimes support the occasional event outside these hours or on a weekend.
About the role and your key responsibilities:
- To provide technical advice and assistance to officers engaged in the investigation of cyber-crimes, predominantly throughout the South Wales Police area but also nationally and internationally.
- To support other team members to develop and deliver the national requirements with regard to Prevent and Protect function of Team Cyber UK.
- To present to both small and large audiences the Cyber messaging regarding Prevent and Protect.
What skills and experience do we need you to bring to the role:
- We are looking for someone who can build public confidence by talking to people in local communities to deliver the Cyber messaging.
- We are keen to hear from you if you can support subjects within South Wales Police who are committing low level cyber-crime with a view of diverting these individuals from crime. The cyber diversionary programmes identify talent who can go on to have successful careers in Cyber.
- Provide information to officers and partners within the MASH / Multi-Agency Safeguarding environment, to identify Cyber Prevent opportunities.
