An exciting opportunity has arisen within Regional Scientific Support Services (RSSS) to play a key role in supporting the future of our Crime Scene Investigation service.

As a highly professional and innovative organisation, we are seeking a Deputy Technical Lead to join our CSI Technical Team as an essential part of our ISO 17020 accreditation in line with the Forensic Science Regulators guidelines.

To be considered for this role it is essential to demonstrate experience as a Crime Scene Investigator in order to effectively manage and monitor standards in accordance with current and future ISO17020 requirements and other emerging regulatory processes.

The CSI Deputy Technical Lead will play a vital part in developing and improving technical processes and must therefore demonstrate an advanced level of understanding in Crime Scene examination and techniques. The successful applicant will be responsible for undertaking competency assessments of CSI colleagues at all levels, carrying out technical audits, producing clear written instructions and guidance, and supporting managers with promoting and influencing change. The CSI Deputy Technical Lead must be able to communicate confidently and clearly to live audiences both inside and outside of the organisation. The successful applicant will need to be highly motivated with a real drive towards problem solving, service improvement and developing standards of service across the whole organisation.

As a CSI Deputy Technical Lead, there will be a requirement to attend the CSI Hubs throughout the region, therefore you must have the ability to travel when required. Most locations include free and secure on-site parking. You will work in accordance with the flexi-time scheme and can work from home on a regular basis.

The successful candidate will be subject to personal and financial vetting checks prior to appointment.
