Assistant HR Business Partner

About the role:
Collaborating with leaders, you will assist them in achieving their people aims by creating people solutions such as business change initiatives, handling case work, managing talent and resources, developing policies and procedures, and supporting attendance and performance etc.
You will work in partnership with HR colleagues, staff associations, line managers, employees and senior leaders; serving as a subject matter expert to ensure timely and effective outcomes.
Main responsibilities:
- Providing advice, guidance and support to managers on the effective management of key employee issues.
- Ensuring that the service provided champions our organisational values of Caring, Inclusive, Learning and Courageous.
- Leading and supporting projects; acting as a subject matter expert in relation to our service delivery and best HR practice
- Develop policies and systems to support innovation in our organisation, including research, engagement with colleagues and analysis of findings
- Taking an active part in HR processes including attendance, capability and disciplinary meetings and hearings as appropriate, advising management on the fairness of the action taken and making decisions in relation to disciplinary outcomes.
Skills, experience and qualifications required:
- Proven experience of advising on casework, implementation of new and amended policies and procedures, and analysing and utilising management information
- CIPD Level 5 qualified or up to date knowledge of employment law and recognised HR practice in a complex operating environment.
- Effective interpersonal communication skills; able to influence others and adapt to different settings
- Ability to work with a high degree of interruptions and demands for advice, cope with competing deadlines and deal positively with change
- Ability to work independently and under own initiative to deliver projects and review processes and policies; taking responsibility for delivering results and identifying opportunities for innovation
Additional information:
We have the following opportunities :
1x permanent Assistant HRBP, working 37 hours per week.
1x permanent Assistant HRBP, working 22.2 hours per week, over 3 days to include a Friday.
These roles are ‘blended’ meaning that the majority of your working time will be spent working from home with the expectation of travel across Avon and Somerset when required.
Shortlisting will take place week commencing 28th April 2025.
