We are looking for someone to #JoinUs as an Environmental Officer in our Environmental Team within the Estates Department. Could you be who we are looking for?
About the team/Department you will be joining:
- We are a small team within the Estates department who develop and implement sustainability projects, environmental strategies and action plans across the South Wales Police Estate -ensuring corporate sustainable development in relation to the UK and Welsh Government’s Public Sector net zero ambitions.
- We mainly work either from Headquarters, project sites or flexible working from home.
- We work 9-5 Monday-Friday though flexible working is encouraged as a balanced approach to suit the individual.
About the role and your key responsibilities:
- This role will support the Tri-Force Environmental Manager and SWP Principal Environmental Officer.
- This role will assist in progressing the SWP Climate Emergency Strategy and associated Action Plan.
- You will be required to assist in the development and implementation of Climate Emergency Action plans, sustainability projects, site supervision, data analysis, reporting and continual improvement across South Wales Police ensuring corporate sustainability and the route to net-zero.
What skills and experience do we need you to bring to the role:
- We are keen to hear from you if you have previous experience in Energy, Waste, Biodiversity, Technology, Behavioural Change and Decarbonisation.
- We are looking for someone who has previous experience in implementing environmental solutions and monitoring compliance.
- We are looking for someone who has experience monitoring Energy, using energy management software (such as Systems Link) and creating energy reports.
- We are keen to hear from you if you have experience in Environmental Management systems, accreditation such as ISO14001 or Green Dragon, and undertaking Environmental Audits.

The successful Candidate must be willing to undergo vetting to MV/SC Vetting.
