Please note that both full time and part time positions are available.  Starting salary for 18.8 hours per week is £14,790 rising by yearly increments to a maximum of £15,901 per annum. Full time equivalent is £29,109 to £31,296 per annum.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our firearms licencing team as a firearms enquiry officer. This is a vital role where you will support the effective control of firearms and ammunition, helping to ensure public safety and compliance with legislation.

This is not purely an administrative position - although IT skills are essential, your role will be much more varied. You will conduct visits to applicant’s premises to assess security, carry out suitability reviews, and make risk-based recommendations. You will be working directly with the public, as well as collaborating closely with police colleagues and other public service partners.

No previous experience in firearms licencing is required as full training will be provided.
