About the team/Department you will be joining:

This is an exciting opportunity to work within the Public Service Centre team at South Wales Police.

The Public Service Centre is responsible for dealing with and resolving enquiries and reports from the public, at first point of contact, through 999 calls, 101 calls, digital contacts and from members of the public attending at front desks, based in 8 stations around the South Wales Police force area.

 

About the role and your key responsibilities:

The role is focused on the supervision of the front desk teams, in the delivery of a high standard of customer service, at the first point of contact, to ensure effective resource management, whilst acting as a liaison between the Public Service Centre, wider force departments, external organisations, agencies, partnerships and the public. 

The post is primarily based in Swansea Central Police Station, however travel across the force area is required. The postholder will be responsible for the first line management of staff based in 4 stations – Swansea Central, Bridgend, Neath and Barry.

The role is covering on a Monday – Sunday basis, following a shift pattern, with a 12.5% shift allowance and weekend enhancements being claimable when worked.

The job is suitable for part time/job share.

 

What skills and experience do we need you to bring to the role:

  • Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft applications.
  • Experience in the provision of a high quality of customer focused service to the public.
  • Highly motivated individual – able to demonstrate drive, determination and
  • Excellent communicator displaying interpersonal and negotiating skills.

 

Desirable Attainments:

  • Welsh Language Level 3 or must work towards Level 3 within the first 12 months of appointment - additional detail in role profile
  • Proven experience in working and delivering results in a performance driven

The successful Candidate must be willing to undergo vetting to MV/SC Vetting.
