Senior Technical Development Officer
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the established Operational Systems team within the busy Digital Services Division, primarily based at South Wales Police Headquarters in Bridgend.
The successful candidate will possess extensive experience in diagnosing and resolving complex issues across applications used to deliver Operational Policing. They will provide specialist technical support and guidance to a wide range of stakeholders, both internal and external, including operational users, senior managers, the wider support and development team, suppliers, and occasionally, other U.K. police forces. A high level of MS SQL database knowledge is essential, along with the ability to interpret business requirements and configure Operational Systems accordingly.
Main responsibilities include:
- Investigating problems/issues and providing appropriate solutions.
- Providing adequate support to system users as required.
- Ensuring that Operational force systems comply with force protocols and procedures.
- Assessing business requirements and providing adequate support, advice, and guidance to business leads.
- Assisting on complex cases, carrying out tasks as directed by supervising practitioners, and providing advice and guidance.
- Resolving complex problems.
The role will involve occasional travel across the U.K., requiring overnight stays on occasion.

The position is based at South Wales Police Headquarters in Bridgend, but the successful applicant will benefit from the force's smart working policy (further details available via the above hyperlink).
The successful candidate must be willing to undergo MV/SC vetting.
