An opportunity has arisen to join Thames Valley Police in an active and visible role as a Safety Camera Operator. In this role you be working in a small team of operators supporting the mobile and fixed safety camera program by setting up and monitoring speed detection equipment. As a Safety Camera Operator you will be carrying out interesting work that matters as you will be working to make a difference in keeping people safe by helping to reduce the number of those killed and seriously injured on roads in Thames Valley.

The role involves driving to designated locations where you will carry out speed enforcement using vehicle based equipment. You will also be operating both static speed and red light camera enforcement equipment. The role also involves attending court to give evidence in relation to speed related offences.

 

Must have capability to travel to different locations across the Force and undertake all assignments in a timely manner. Due to the requirement to work flexibly, unsocial hours and personal safety for lone working; public transport may not be available or suitable at these times. For this reason a full UK driving licence is considered essential

 

The working hours are between 06:00 hours and 20:00 hours, and the successful applicant will be required to work one Saturday and one Sunday in each four-week period.
