Senior Finance Officer

We are looking for a qualified accountant to join the office of the West Mercia Police and Crime Commissioner and support our vision: “Working with partners and the public to deliver safer, stronger communities in West Mercia”. 

The core role of the PCC’s office is to ensure the voice of the public is reflected in policing. The PCC also allocates millions of pounds to community projects, victim services and crime prevention measures, and makes sure the police force has the funding it needs to deliver an efficient and effective service for the public. 

This role requires you to lead a small team and is ideal for someone who has a passion for management accounting and delivering large capital projects. This is an opportunity to be at the centre of decision making on how policing is financed and ensuring that public sector resources are being utilised efficiently and effectively whilst delivering a quality police service. 

We are looking for someone who can provide professional, proactive and effective support and advice to the Police and Crime Commissioner around financial management, planning and value for money. This role will also involve supporting and enabling the Treasurer to fulfil their statutory duties and responsibilities, and deputise for the Treasurer in their absence.

  • The Senior Finance Officer for the Police and Crime Commissioners office is a is a hybrid role with up to 2 days working from other locations including home in line with business requirements.
  • Part time position (hours/days to be agreed but a minimum of 20 and maximum of 30 hours per week)
  • Permanent
