An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the Priority Crime Team, focussing on Organised Serious acquisitive crime.
Preventing and thoroughly investigating crime, supporting victims and bringing offenders to justice. This can’t be achieved by any one person alone; it relies upon a team of over 8,000 officers, police staff and volunteers, working in partnership with other agencies and the public. Exciting challenges lie ahead – new digital technologies and ways of working are transforming the way we protect our communities and bring people to justice. To ensure we deliver a high-quality service, we require the very best talent to be a part of Thames Valley Police.
The role
- Undertake evidence collection to support a mixed team of Police Officers and staff.
- Record witness accounts in the form of a statement
- View CCTV or other media to identify investigative opportunities
- House to house enquiries and exhibit handling as directed by supervisor
- Necessity to attend court to provide evidence (as and when required).
The essentials
- English GCSE (grade 9-1, A-C or Key Skills Level 2 or equivalent)
- Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft applications
- Good interpersonal and communication skills to interact confidently with both staff and members of the public
- Proven ability to plan, manage and prioritise workloads
- Flexible approach to working as some evening and weekend work might be required on occasion.
- Must have capability to travel to different locations across the Force and undertake all assignments in a timely manner. Due to the requirement to work flexibly, unsocial hours and personal safety for lone working; public transport may not be available or suitable at these times. For this reason a full UK driving licence is considered Essential.
The hours are Monday to Friday office hours.
