Role: HP – Force Duties Planner  

Department: Northbank and Southbank Local Policing Command  

Location: Clough Road, Hull & Victoria Street, Grimsby

Salary Range: £20,350 to £22,530

Hours: 37 hours per week    

Contract Type: Permanent  

We’ve got a fantastic opportunity for you to join Team Humberside in this vital role. You will be responsible for ensuring Police resources are planned and organised to provide a service to the public. Ranging from day to day policing activity, to pre-planned and spontaneous police operations. You will be a great multi-tasker with a keen eye for detail and comfortable working in a dynamic environment where no two days are the same. This is a key role, ensuring we have the right people in the right place at the right time.

You will be expected to provide advice and guidance to internal and external customers on a range of resourcing enquiries, including those relating to legislation and policy.

Innovative, driven, you will be the person who gets things one. Engaging people in the change process and encouraging them to contribute ideas. We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills and a confident relationship builder.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Using the duties management system software to identify, amend, compile and repot on duties data, including weekly, monthly and annual rosters for police and appropriate police staff to meet the operational needs of the force
  • Identifying resources available from within the force to meet operational needs, promoting best practice and minimising cost implications to the organisation
  • Providing practical support, advice and guidance typically by cascade training to individuals and supervisors
  • Monitors the availability and training level of force personnel responsible for specialist skills, highlighting areas of concern through appropriate channels
