South Wales Police is seeking a proactive and motivated Intelligence Officer to join our dedicated team. In this vital role, you’ll be at the heart of intelligence gathering and analysis – supporting criminal investigations, identifying suspects, and helping to combat Serious and Organised Criminality and assist in reducing crime and disorder across South Wales.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive, evaluate, and develop intelligence from a variety of sources.
  • Support operational policing by preparing intelligence packages and briefings.
  • Conduct open-source and police system research to support investigations.
  • Present intelligence findings to internal teams and external partners.
  • Support live incidents and major investigations with real-time intelligence.

 What You’ll Need:

  • Strong IT skills and confidence using Microsoft applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Demonstrable investigative experience or similar analytical background.
  • A keen understanding of local and regional crime issues.
  • High standards of integrity, discretion, and professionalism.

Desirable:

  • Welsh Language Level 2.
  • Background in criminal investigations.
  • Experience handling sensitive information in line with data protection and MOPI.
