Mounted Police Support Volunteer (MPSV)
Warwickshire Police are looking for horse riders and carriage drivers to form a team of Mounted Police Support Volunteers to support the work of the Rural Crime Team and local policing teams by being a visible and accessible point of contact within their community.
This volunteering opportunity involves observing your usual surroundings, riding routes and reporting any suspicious persons, vehicles, activity, damage or anti-social behaviour to Police along with reporting any concerns aired by your local and the riding community.
There will also be opportunities to promote the British Horse Society’s ‘Dead Slow’ Campaign and ‘Operation Close Pass,’ promoting road safety when passing horses on the highway.
We would also like you to help promote equine crime prevention to help horse owners protect their property and equipment, plus join us at relevant events promoting the scheme around the county.

You will need to own your own horse and be willing to have members of the Rural Crime Team to visit you and your horse, at your stables to conduct a face-to-face interview with you.
You and your horse will also need to undergo a British Horse Society Road Safety Assessment to ensure that your horse is safe on the roads as part of the recruitment/ assessment process.
