Regional Data Quality Officer

About the Role

We are seeking a meticulous and proactive individual to join our regional Data Quality team. Based at Lincolnshire Police Headquarters in Nettleham—to include agile home working—you’ll play a key role in maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and consistency of information within the regional Niche system. You’ll be part of a dedicated team supporting six police forces across the East Midlands and the City of London, helping ensure that critical policing information is correct, reliable, and fit for purpose.

What You’ll Be Doing

In this role, you will carry out a range of proactive and reactive quality assurance activities, including:

  • Investigating and resolving assigned data quality issues, helping to reduce duplication and inaccuracies.
  • Identifying patterns, analysing the causes of errors, and recommending improvements to support better data input standards.
  • Providing specialist advice to Niche users, sharing best practice and supporting operational policing.
  • Conducting research and analysis to identify effective solutions to data quality challenges.
  • Making informed decisions on linking and de-linking records to ensure individuals are represented accurately within Niche and the Genie system.
  • Reviewing records for accuracy and acting to amend or remove incorrect information.
Why This Role Matters

High‑quality data is essential to effective policing. Your work will directly support the region’s ability to prevent crime, protect communities, and provide the right help to those who need it. By maintaining accurate records, you’ll help ensure that officers and staff have the correct information they need to keep people safe. You will also contribute to Lincolnshire Police’s commitment to fairness, equality of opportunity, and delivering a professional service across the East Midlands.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Can research, interpret, and resolve complex data issues.
  • Communicates clearly and confidently when providing advice or feedback.
  • Is comfortable working independently as well as part of a regional team.
  • Is motivated to support continuous improvement and uphold high data quality standards.
