Coordinating and Tasking Officer - CTPSW

Avon and Somerset Police are looking for a forward thinking and experienced individual to work as a Co-ordination and Tasking Officer within Counter Terrorism Policing South West. 

We are seeking someone with excellent organisational skills who can manage a number of competing priorities whilst maintaining collaborative relationships with colleagues and stakeholders of all levels, both internally and externally.   The successful candidate will be data driven, have excellent negotiation and influencing skills and understand the importance of wellbeing within this area of work.

The main responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to –

  • To represent the role of Coordinating and Tasking Officer at the force and regional daily management meetings
  • To undertake the coordination of regional tasking processes
  • To manage national tasking requests and support the SLT at the national weekly tasking meetings and actions.
  • To manage and track regional and national asset requests. Maintain the regions and other teams as required recruitment, training, deployment and welfare of staff records.
  • To collate the regions daily operations returns on relevant databases and be single point of contact for categorisation of the investigations tracker
  • To collate, produce and update the force and regional situational briefing reports and act as regional point of contact.
  • To oversee and issue nationally generated operational names for regional investigations and attend national working groups and meetings to identify best practice and national consistency.
  • To manage, handle and assess information and intelligence, including sensitive intelligence, to identify threat and risk levels.
  • To develop and sustain productive working relationships with key partners to maximise opportunities to progress investigations.
  • To have an awareness of surveillance techniques in order to assist in the operations room and manage the development of intelligence on case work, when required to act as operations room manager.
  • To complete relevant elements of the national service delivery framework and maintain up to date and accurate records complying with relevant legislation and policies.

The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a busy, fast paced environment whilst demonstrating high level problem solving skills.  Previous experience within Surveillance, Policing or Counter Terrorism is essential.  

As a key part of this role the successful candidate will be required to travel around the region so a full current driving licence will be essential, or the ability to travel around the region by alternative means.

Working pattern – Flexible working, part time, secondment and job share applications will be considered.

This post requires access to the most sensitive intelligence material on a daily basis. Applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo National Security Vetting (NSV) Security Check (enhanced) (SC(e)) level before taking up the post; with a willingness to undergo Developed Vetting (DV) once in post, if required.

This post requires British nationality (some dual nationals may be ineligible) and an Enhanced Security Check (eSC)/Developed Vetting (DV)] clearance.
