Volunteer - Gardener
Do you find yourself listening to gardener's question time wishing you had a place to prune?
Are you interested in supporting the welfare of officers and staff?
Can you wield a pair of secateurs with some idea of what to prune and what to leave?
Then we need you for our Police Memorial Garden at Sulhamstead!
We are looking for an enthusiastic gardener perhaps once or twice a week to provide gardening caring responsibilities for the Police memorial Garden at Sulhamstead, this will include grass cutting (hand mower) pruning of plants and shrubs, weed clearing in gravel strips, patio and stone care (wash & brush) cleaning of memorial garden plaques displaying our fallen officers. The work will entail light / medium levels of activity. Movement and management of tools on site will be required. There will be guidance and direction on activity from established trust members, with full expectations of the role demonstrated.

As a volunteer within the police service, you will be subjected to a level of police vetting. The level will be dependent upon the role and it’s access requirements. With the higher levels of vetting, applicants could be asked to provide details of family members, partner, partner’s parents and co-residents, as well as additional information regarding their own personal circumstances. This process is required to ensure that Thames Valley Police comply with the legislation of the Vetting Code of Practice.
