Humberside Police are looking for enthusiastic people to help with the targeted approach to speeding drivers across the Humberside area, making a vital difference to our work to reduce speeds across the county.
Community Speedwatch plays a vital role in keeping Humberside safe. We are looking to enhance our service and will be linking in with the existing Community Speedwatch project. You will submit all information gathered to the Community Speedwatch Coordinator, who will process any letters etc that will need to go out.
This is a fantastic way to make a meaningful difference in your community.
Key Responsibilities:
- You will be integral to the manning of the Community Speedwatch Scheme. You will run alongside the existing volunteers out in the villages, reducing speeding in their local communities.
- You will play a vital role in supporting the Community Speedwatch Scheme. You may be asked to go to public events to promote road safety and the Community Speedwatch scheme.
- Promote My Community Alert.
- Be an ambassador for Humberside Police during public engagement at relevant events.
- Gather any additional information provided by the public in reference to previous accidents.
Knowledge and Skills required:
- You’ll need to be able to think on your feet, and log information quickly and accurately.
- Excellent people skills with experience of dealing with enquiries and complaints.
- Access to a vehicle and willingness to travel across Humberside will be essential. Training will be provided.

The role is to cover the Humberside Police force area, with offices based in Grimsby and Pearson Park, Hull.
Access will be given to the Police events bus and Speed Guns so that you are able to easily access and set up at any accident prone area.

Pre – Employment Checks and Eligibility:
- Applicants must meet the minimum requirement checkable history criteria of at least 3 years continuous residency in the UK to apply for roles with Humberside Police.
- Successful candidates will undergo a vetting procedure pre-requisite of employment. (Please note, with holding any information asked by the vetting department, may delay the vetting procedure, or result in your vetting been refused and the offer of employment been withdrawn)
- Tattoo’s will be reviewed as a part of the recruitment process to ensure we maintain a level of professional standards and to make sure the images do not cause offence or are unacceptable.
