Prevent Intelligence Supervisor
An opportunity has arisen for a Counter Terrorism Prevent/Intelligence Supervisor. We are looking for a dynamic individual who is comfortable managing risk and making robust decisions.
The role will support the Prevent strand of the Contest strategy by supervising the initial receipt and management of prevent referrals, ensuring correct safeguarding is implemented in order to reduce the risk of harm to individuals and keeping our communities free from Terrorism.
The successful candidate will also be required to supervise standards and compliance of various intelligence capabilities ensuring that risks are correctly identified and managed appropriately. This can involve handling information/intelligence up to top secret GSC.
The post holder will supervise staff that deliver an open-source capability to CTP Wales’ intelligence and investigation teams. This capability assists in informing and directing Counter Terrorism Policing Wales’ priorities and the UK Governments contest strategy in order to deter, detect and disrupt acts of terrorism and extremism.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate an understanding of Counter Terrorism policing, the Contest/Prevent Strategy, management of open source investigations as well as managing staff.
The successful candidate must have (or be willing to) attend, complete and pass the National Prevent Foundation Programme which is a pass or fail course. They must also be trained in COSII (Covert Open-Source Internet Investigations) or have relevant experience and will be expected to complete the IPP. Courses will involve travel and overnight stays.
As all CTP staff are part of the CT Network you may be required to undertake additional duties from time to time in order to manage the risk to National Security across the UK.

This post requires the successful candidate to successfully achieve vetting to MV/SC and DV (Developed Vetting) Levels.
Employment within Counter Terrorism Policing requires applicants for the role to hold British citizenship as well as the successful completion of an additional security induction process. This additional process requires pre-screening checks of nationality and foreign connections. It must be stressed that this is in addition to SC Vetting or force Management Vetting. Candidates must, in summary be British Citizens and achieve both clearances to take up this post.
