Salary: The starting salary is £47,060, which includes allowances totalling £2,928.
The salary is broken down as £44,132 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £52,652. Plus, a location allowance of £1,928 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.

Are you passionate about maintaining high standards in police training and ensuring assessments are fair, robust, and credible? We are looking for an experienced and motivated Lead Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) to drive excellence across our assessment and quality assurance practices.
About the role
As the Lead IQA, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for internal quality assurance across our police training programmes. You will ensure all assessment activity aligns with College of Policing requirements, awarding body standards, and our own internal quality frameworks.
This role is central to safeguarding the integrity of assessment decisions that underpin operational competence. You will oversee the end‑to‑end quality cycle, support standardisation, and provide expert guidance to assessors and IQAs across Learning & Development.
Key responsibilities
- Lead, plan, and coordinate internal quality assurance activity across police training programmes.
- Ensure full compliance with College of Policing standards, qualification specifications, and relevant awarding body requirements.
- Drive consistency, fairness, and accuracy in assessment decision‑making.
- Maintain internal quality frameworks and implement continuous improvements to IQA processes.
- Provide expert support, coaching, and CPD to assessors and internal quality assurers.
- Lead standardisation activities to promote shared understanding of assessment criteria and expectations.
- Produce high‑quality reports and evidence to support audits, inspections, and external quality assurance visits.
- Champion a culture of quality, integrity, and learner‑centred practice within the Learning & Development function.
