Job Title: Cyber Crime Prevention Officer – Cyber and Economic Crime - 01
Salary: The starting salary is £38,926, which includes allowances totalling £2,928.
The salary is broken down as £35,998 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £38,523. Plus, a location allowance of £1,928 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Cyber and Economic Crime Unit within Specialist Crime of the Metropolitan Police.
We are looking for cyber crime prevention officers to increase awareness and resilience across communities, businesses, and individuals against cyber-enabled crime. The role develops and delivers evidence-based prevention initiatives, education campaigns, and stakeholder engagement activities to reduce the risk of re-victimisation and dissuade potential offenders.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Identify and prioritise groups vulnerable to cyber-enabled crime, tailoring prevention campaigns and interventions to reduce risk and re-victimisation.
- Analyse crime data and trends to design, implement, and evaluate projects that prevent offending and protect victims.
- Create and deliver high-quality presentations, training, and awareness materials to internal staff, external partners, and members of the public to promote safer online behaviours.
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with partners across policing, government agencies, businesses, academia, and community organisations to strengthen collective cyber resilience.
- Lead on specific cyber prevention projects aligned with national and local priorities, ensuring delivery within agreed timeframes and measurable outcomes.
- Produce clear written reports, briefings, and risk assessments to inform decision-making and communicate the effectiveness of initiatives.
- Contribute to organisational learning by reviewing new threats and trends, updating prevention messaging, and sharing best practice.
- Engage directly with victims, including those with additional vulnerabilities, providing tailored advice to reduce risk of re-victimisation and increase trust in policing.
