Salary:  £57,186 - £64,869 per annum
Contract: Permanent | Hours: 37

About the role

Nottinghamshire Police is seeking an experienced procurement professional to join our Procurement team as Deputy Head of Procurement. Reporting to the Head of Commercial & Contract Management, you will provide strategic direction and professional leadership across all procurement activity, ensuring value for money, compliance, and commercial excellence.

You will lead and develop a small team, manage complex and above-threshold procurements, and act as principal advisor on all legal and policy matters relating to commercial and procurement activities. The role requires you to motivate and develop staff, build strong relationships with stakeholders, and drive continuous improvement in a highly regulated environment.

Key requirements

  • Substantial experience leading complex procurements under PCR2015, with a strong understanding of the Procurement Act 2023.
  • Proven line management experience, with the ability to motivate, develop, and performance manage a team.
  • MCIPS (or equivalent)
  • Strong knowledge of procurement law, contract management, and public sector best practice.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and influencing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a demanding environment.
  • Customer-focused, proactive, and committed to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
