Are you aged 13–18 and ready for something different? Want to learn new skills, make friends, and get a behind-the-scenes look at policing? Then this is your opportunity to become part of the North Yorkshire Police Volunteer Police Cadets – Skipton Unit!

What to Expect:
This isn’t just sitting in a classroom – it’s action-packed! You’ll get involved in physical activities and drill, plus enjoy behind-the-scenes experiences with specialist teams like the Dog Section, Roads Policing, and Crime Scene Investigation. Every week brings something new and exciting!
You’ll also receive a uniform, follow a structured programme about policing and law, and after your initial training, take part in an attestation ceremony before joining activities outside of sessions.
How to Apply:
Complete the online expression of interest form. Applications will be shortlisted, and successful applicants will be invited to an interview (online or in person).
We’d love to hear why you want to join! A short paragraph of around 50–75 words is ideal, but don’t worry—this isn’t a test. Just tell us what excites you about becoming a cadet and what you hope to gain from the experience.
We welcome cadets from all backgrounds – no prior interest in policing needed!
