Counter Terrorism Policing North West (CTPNW) is a five-force collaboration delivering Counter Terrorism (CT) services to our regional forces as well as forming part of the national CT Network. CTPNW’s mission is to work together to keep people safe from terrorism.
We are looking for a committed and outstanding individual who can support CTPNW in achieving its mission.
An exciting opportunity is available within CTPNW for an experienced trainer responsible for delivering specialist training to CTPNW staff and officers across the North West region. They will lead on the planning and delivery of National Ports Procedures courses, Behavioural Assessment Training, Terrorism legislation and Investigations training, Induction courses, Behavioural Assessment Training, CPD workshops, and various other training sessions and inputs (as required) to ensure CT Capability at Borders is maintained.
The successful candidate will have a good working knowledge of Terrorism legislation, Investigative training (including ICIDP) and operational procedures at Borders, including the principles of Behavioural Detection.
In addition, the candidate must be experienced in Assessment, and will work alongside the College of Policing in fulfilling the programme of accreditation and reaccreditation of Examining and Review officers in Schedule 7 Tact 2000 and CTBSA 2019 Schedule 3 legislation. There will also be a requirement to assist with IT training, so should be competent using IT systems, databases, and internet. They should also be prepared to use and develop their skills in online training package creation and delivery.
The candidate will frequently be called upon to advise senior officers in the planning of Executive Action or discuss points of procedure, therefore they will be confident in liaising with all ranks and discussing CT legislation in detail. They will also be required to travel across the North West and to other parts of the UK in carrying out their role.
The candidate will work as part of a regional training team within a national network, so the ability to work as part of a team and with Partners is essential. SC enhanced vetting is required as a minimum for this post.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced person to share their knowledge and skills, and make a positive contribution to CT Policing in the North West.
