OIMU Assessor - Intelligence (CTPSE)
A unique and exciting opportunity has arisen for an Intelligence Assessor to join the Counter Terrorism Policing South East (CTPSE) team in the Operational Intelligence Management Unit (OIMU).
As an Intelligence Assessor within the OIMU you will be responsible for receiving, assessing and evaluating intelligence. You will have an ability to gather information / intelligence to inform decision making and you will take ownership of tasking and prioritise any immediate actions based on the threat and risk presented in order to identify further intelligence or evidential opportunities and mitigate any identified threat.
You will be able to problem solve in conjunction with partners and will act as a conduit for the two-way flow of overt, sensitive and secret information. This means that you will manage intelligence for live operations across the South East and will contribute to the development of strategic and tactical intelligence assessments, target and problem profiles and other National Intelligence Model products.
Ideally the successful applicant will have Counter Terrorism experience with proven experience within an intelligence environment, however applications are also encouraged from candidates without an investigative background as full training will be provided. You will undertake sensitive high profile enquiries with limited supervision and therefore high standards of integrity and professionalism are required combined with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Please note that this role is part of a national, regional and local network and as a result you may be required to travel for business purposes mainly across the south east region and occasionally throughout the UK. Therefore, the successful candidate will require a full UK driving licence.
You will be also required to perform on-call arrangements for immediate response as required across the South East region.
Due to the nature of our work, security is of paramount importance to us and therefore it will be necessary for the successful candidate to obtain and maintain vetting level DV together with a number of enhanced security checks. In order to achieve this, you must be a British National and have resided in the UK for the past ten years. Exemptions may apply for overseas or other diplomatic service (with HM Government), and studying abroad. Please be aware that if successful there are limitations on travelling to a small number of countries once in post
You can find more information about security vetting here.
