The principal responsibility of the ViSOR Intelligence Unit Team Leader is to ensure the protection of the public by acting as Team Leader to assist in the day to day running of the ViSOR Intelligence Unit. To assist & manage the delivery of dedicated & complex intelligence support to the POLIT (Paedophile Online Investigation Team) & MOSOVO (Management of Sexual & Violent Offenders) teams. To act as deputy to the ViSOR Intelligence Unit Manager & to ensure that Devon & Cornwall Police is compliant with national MAPPA guidance, ViSOR Standards and NPCC CSA best practice guidance by the effective supervision of staff in the ViSOR Intelligence Unit & utilisation of specialist knowledge in Sex Offender Management.

In particular to:

• To act as deputy to all the in-force responsibilities held by the ViSOR Intelligence Unit Manager especially in their absence.
• To effectively first line manage & supervise the PPUIO’s & ViSOR administrators in the ViSOR Intelligence.
• To ensure the effective & timely receipt, recording, development & evaluation of CSAM (Child Sexual Abuse Material) referrals disseminated to Devon and Cornwall Police.
• To deliver specialist knowledge, advice & training as a Force expert on ViSOR & associated legislation.
• Provide bespoke tactical support, & advice for High Risk Missing MAPPA offenders/ CSAM suspects, alongside providing expert knowledge and advice on intelligence development for Registered Sex Offenders and MAPPA 2/3 cases.
• To build effective inter-agency relationships and act as ViSOR additional supervisor for all RSO’s held in HMP, abroad or deported and oversee their effective release into the community alongside Prison & probation
