HR Coordinator

Job summary

Applications for this role are welcomed from internal and external candidates - This post is open to applicants who can meet the College’s nationality, UK residency and vetting requirements

About us:

We’re the professional body for the police service in England and Wales. We work with everyone in policing to set standards, to share knowledge and good practice and to support the development of police officers and staff. Our mission is to drive a consistent approach across policing where the public and the service expect it, to boost professionalism and to improve leadership at every level.

Although we're a small organisation, our work has a big reach. We are uniquely placed to work both with national policing organisations and local forces to support frontline officers, staff and volunteers in their day-to-day roles.

We offer a supportive and inclusive environment for people to thrive. Our extensive flexible-working policy, employee wellbeing support, family friendly policies, employers’ network for equality and inclusion membership (ENEI silver award winners), and status as a disability confident leader means everyone can bring their whole self to work.

The Talent Acquisition and Inclusion (TAI) Team was established in January 2025, bringing together recruitment and diversity and inclusion to champion fair hiring and support colleagues throughout their time at the College. We sit within People and OD and work across the organisation to create a workplace where everyone can thrive.

We’re a team of six, including three HR Coordinators, and while small in size, our reach is wide and our impact is growing. We’re collaborative, inclusive and always looking for ways to improve. We value openness, innovation and learning, and we support each other to do our best work.

Professional development is important to us. This HR Coordinator role includes the opportunity to pursue a CIPD apprenticeship, with time and support to help you succeed.

We work flexibly and autonomously, while staying closely connected to each other and the wider People and OD team. You’ll be joining a team that values ideas, encourages discussion and celebrates progress together.

Job description

As the first point of contact for initial enquiries, the HR Coordinator plays a key role in guiding candidates through the recruitment journey, helping to embed continuous improvement in our recruitment and inclusion practices.

This role supports the full recruitment cycle, including selection, onboarding and vetting processes, ensuring that our workforce has the appropriate clearance to carry out their roles.
