Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) Research Officer

We are looking for two highly skilled and motivated individuals to provide expert support and advice on Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) across the Force. In this role, you will monitor and interpret real-time ANPR data to inform operational decisions, ensuring the safety of colleagues and the public. You will evaluate intelligence from multiple sources, including national systems and ANPR cameras, and maintain accurate records across various platforms. Your expertise will be critical in supporting the Force Incident Manager and Silver Commander during live critical incidents, delivering timely and actionable intelligence.

As an ANPR Specialist, you will play a key role in identifying patterns, notable incidents, and emerging threats. You will mentor team members, produce accurate briefings, and uphold the highest standards of professionalism and integrity in line with the Code of Ethics. This position follows a 16-week shift pattern, averaging 38.5 hours per week. Shift allowances will be paid in addition to the base salary.
