Location: Winchester Workshop, Unit D Bar End Industrial Estate, 

  

Salary: Scale 4, £26,106 - £28,653 per annum 

  

Hours: 37 hours per week 

Contract: Permanent

  

Closing Date: Thursday 13th November 2025 at 23:59 hours 

Job Purpose


To assist in providing an effective Transport stores service on behalf of the 
Constabulary.

Accountabilities include but are not limited to: 

1. To assist in maintaining the Transport stores, including receiving and 
unloading goods, checking and placing into stock and the issuing of goods 
and stock.

2. To raise orders to suppliers on the TRANMAN fleet management 
system:

3. To assist, as required, with the delivery and collection of motor parts, 
equipment and vehicles.

4. To assist in dealing with telephone queries and personal callers to the 
Stores.

5. To undertake a range of clerical tasks; e.g. maintenance of records,
filing, photocopying.

6. To ensure the Stores section is kept clean & tidy.

Essential Qualifications


Educated to Educated to QCF Level 2, (4 passes 
including English and Maths) OR work experience deemed to 
have brought the post holder to a comparable level

Essential Experience


Must have a understanding of motor vehicle layout its 
parts i.e. engines, braking systems, electrical systems, 
suspension and transmission.

Experience in stock control i.e. checking/receiving 
goods, and maintaining accurate records.

Using computer systems for ordering, inventory 
management, and communication (e.g., Microsoft Word, 
Excel, Outlook).
