The Forensic Imaging Unit is a small team within Forensic Services who provide 24 / 7 cover for the entire force area from their base in Chadderton, Manchester.

In the role of a Crime Scene Surveyor, you will be a critical part of the investigation of serious and major crime. You will:


• Attend major incident crime scenes to carry out scan capture

  • Complete post-production work – Fly Throughs and Plan production


The role requires the individual to hold a recognised professional qualification or have the equivalent professional experience in a similar role.

- Hold a valid UK driving licence with access to own vehicle for work purposes.

- Experience of working in a CAD environment.

- Knowledge in the use of Autodesk Autocad (latest version).

- Knowledge and experience of, 'as-built' internal building surveying.

  • Experience of 3D laser scanning and post survey data processing software.
  • Knowledge of land and building surveying techniques

- Works on multiple tasks concurrently and assess the impact of deadlines, works to tight time scales.

  • Evidence of strong interpersonal skills
