Job Title: Asset and Change Analyst

Salary: The starting salary is £45,131, which includes allowances totalling £2,928.

The salary is broken down as £42,203 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £47,668.  Plus, a location allowance of £1,928 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.

Location: The primary Met Location for this role is Vauxhall. Travel across the Met Estate, to attend meetings as required by the business, is expected.

Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT)

The mission of Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) is to provide the Met with information (and specifically data), communications and technology to help frontline officers and Met staff do their jobs more efficiently, in order to deliver the New Met for London plan. In other words, DDaT is about “passionately delivering trusted technology for precise data driven policing”.

As well as keeping up to speed with developments in technology and making recommendations for new equipment and systems that will help modernise policing, DDaT also comprises the Data Office which:

  • Owns and drives the data compliance and analytics agenda.
  • Brings together the accountabilities that are currently dispersed across the Met business areas.
  • Consolidates and further develops existing Met data and insight services.
  • Enables data sharing and collaboration to serve the public and external partners.

Job Purpose

The purpose of this role is to safeguard Digital, Data and Technology Secure Services (DDaTSS) by managing the administration of IT assets throughout their lifecycle, and supporting change management administration processes, ensuring the integrity and compliance of DDaTSS IT systems.

Key Role Responsibilities

  • The accurate administration of Configuration Items (CI) through their lifecycle from delivery to destruction using the DDaTSS Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) tool, and Installation Movement Asset and Change (IMAC) process.
  • The administration activities of the Change Management Database (CMDB), ensuring CI records are accurately recorded and associated to each other using the DDaTSS ITSM tool.
  • Ensuring that all ‘tagged’ CIs are audited and reconciled against the CMDB.
  • Ensuring that all DDaTSS ‘Licence details’ are recorded accurately on ITSM tooling and supplier portals as directed by the DDaTSS Service Delivery Manager.
  • Providing guidance to DDaTSS personnel and stakeholders on the DDaTSS IMAC process.
  • Ensuring that any risks and issues relating to Asset Management are raised through the DDaTSS Risk & Issues process.
  • The administration of Change Management processes, including managing change requests through the ITSM tool, maintaining documentation for governance boards, Secure Configuration Change Group (SCCG) and Secure Change Advisory Board (SCAB) and monitoring change related communications.
  • Reporting on performance and status of DDaTSS Assets, Licences, and RFC as directed by the DDaTSS Service Delivery Manager.
  • The management of the DDaTSS Storeroom, including receipt of ordered CI’s and Secure destruction activities.
  • Completing activities in line with Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) best practice.

This post requires access to the most sensitive intelligence material on a daily basis. Applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo National Security Vetting (NSV) Developed Vetting (DV) level before taking up the post.

Working Pattern

The role requires that you attend the Cobalt Square office 5-days per week (Monday to Friday).
