Transport Services Administrator

We have an opportunity for a Transport Administrator to provide an efficient administrative and support service to our Transport Services Department. We are looking for an organised, proactive team player who can meet deadlines to keep our force vehicles compliant and well maintained.
This is a busy and varied role where you will work closely with a range of different people across the organisation including vehicle users and external agencies. You will be part of a supportive team within our Administration Department who are based across a number of locations in our force area.
This role is based at Bridgwater and you will also support the Transport Services Team and Transport Reception based there. You will also be required to visit our admin hub at Headquarters in Portishead occasionally.
While the successful applicant will ultimately work remotely from the other administrators and operate independently once fully trained, initial administrative training will take place at both HQ and Cabot Park over the first few months. This will provide an opportunity to become familiar with the wider team. Once based at Bridgwater, the individual will work alongside the technicians on-site and collaborate remotely with the other administrative teams.
Your role will include:
- Taking a proactive role in delivering range of admin services to support the organisation
- Delivering excellent customer service face to face, electronically and over the telephone
- Keeping accurate records for audit purposes
- Ensure service and MOTs are scheduled as required
- Processing of tax renewals and fines
- Manage the auction process and scrapping of vehicles
- Maintaining costs and invoicing reports
- Administration of our in-house pool car system
- Manage fuel and charging cards for our vehicles
- Keeping our vehicle users account up to date on various systems
What do you need?
- Excellent customer service skills and experience of working in an administrative environment
- Proficient in the use of IT systems such as Microsoft Office
- Ability to prioritise your workload
- Good analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to collate data

Please note that we would be looking for the successful candidate to commence in post from January 2026.
