Counter Terrorism Policing North West (CTPNW) is a five-force collaboration delivering Counter Terrorism (CT) services to our regional forces, as well as forming part of the national CT Network. CTPNW’s mission is to work together to keep people safe from terrorism.

We are looking for a committed and outstanding individual who can support CTPNW in achieving its mission.

Our Counter Terrorism Borders Officers are at the front line of protecting national security from threats posed by terrorism, at ports across the North West. Borders Officers are tasked to manage the known and unknown threats posed by individuals and groups seeking to travel across borders in furtherance of terrorism.

This role is intrinsic to the UK Counter Terrorism Strategy in mitigating the threat to UK interests at home and abroad.

We welcome applications from substantive Inspectors to join our team. You will join our Counter Terrorism Policing North West (CTPNW) Border Policing Team and supervise borders officer teams. You will work closely with our partners, driving the submission of quality intelligence in relation to terrorism and extremism.

To be successful in this role you will be inquisitive and outward looking. You must possess strong communication skills, be able to manage and motivate staff to produce high quality, detailed reports and have experience of collaborating with partners and stakeholders. You must be able to evidence experience of strong leadership where you have enabled others to perform effectively with high ethical standards and have demonstrable experience of understanding root causes which result in the ability to take action and make informed decisions in time critical situations.

Please note that this role is part of a national, regional and local network and as a result you may be required to travel for business purposes mainly across the North West region and occasionally throughout the UK. Therefore the successful candidate will require a full UK driving licence.

Due to the nature of our work, security is of paramount importance to us and therefore it will be necessary for the successful candidate to obtain and maintain DV vetting level together with a number of enhanced security checks. In order to achieve this, you must be a British National and have resided in the UK for the past ten years.
