Cyber Protect Officer - Fixed Term Role

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team in a dynamic and impactful role focused on digital safeguarding as a Cyber Protect Officer.

As a key public-facing representative of our organisation, you will be at the forefront of delivering expert cybercrime protection and prevention advice to schools, businesses and wider community partners.

This is a unique opportunity to make a real difference by empowering individuals, safeguarding vulnerable people and driving forward innovative strategies to reduce online harm. 

The role:

  • Deliver training and guidance to front-line staff, equipping them to support vulnerable individuals at risk of cyber criminality.
  • Subject matter expert for all aspects of cyber crime protection and prevention strategies.
  • Design and implement bespoke cyber crime awareness packages tailored to diverse community groups, using innovative methods to maximise engagement.
  • Identify and embed national best practice into local policy and procedures, enhancing staff training and awareness.
  • Support officers and staff in diverting individuals at risk of committing cyber crime.
  • Monitor emerging cyber threats and trends and develop proactive approaches to reduce harm and impact.

You will need:

  • To hold or be willing to work towards a Cyber Protect Accreditation and a Cyber Prevent Accreditation
  • Strong communication and training delivery skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively across
  • Full current driving licence is essential to be able to travel around the force area

Additional information:

You will be based at either Kenneth Steele House in Bristol or Bridgwater Police Centre.

Working hours are Monday to Friday 0800 -16:00.  The successful candidate will also be expected to attend some meetings outside of these working hours, times can be negotiated.

Interviews are anticipated to take place week commencing 10th November onwards.

To be eligible to apply for this role you must have a 5 year ‘checkable history’ in the UK – ideally this means that you would have been resident in the UK for the last 5 years.
