Policing is not simply a job for police officers. It actually requires a large multi-disciplined team, working together and making best use of the skills and resources available.

As a part of the Crime Recording & Resolution Unit in the Force Contact Crime and Operations Branch the aim of this role is to provide a 24-hour service to members of the public, operational officers and partners dealing with incident and crime reports.

You will need to seek all opportunities to appropriately, ethically and professionally assist the informant as near as possible to the first point of contact and provide them with a clear understanding of how their contact will be progressed.

You will also apply a victim-orientated approach to crime recording and problem solving, focusing on protecting members of the public and keeping them safe.

We are looking to fill 24/7 posts for seven days a week, that include weekends and night shifts. Please see the attached shift pattern for further details.

These posts are based at  Claytonbrook Operational Communications Room, 2 Claytonbrook Road, Openshaw M11 1PP.

These posts attract 20% shift allowance and 15.07% weekend enhancement.  The basic salary is ££27,304 p/a, along with added allowances, however, please note that shift allowances and weekend enhancements are not payable during the initial training period.

Please note, if appointed, the initial training course will be five weeks, Monday to Friday (0800-1600hrs), followed by a four weeks mentoring on a 24/7 shift basis. No leave will be granted/accepted during the training/ mentoring period.
