The Role

Working for the Met doesn’t have to mean patrolling the streets. Just as important as our uniformed officers is our 14,000-strong team of professional and support staff working behind the scenes.

We are looking for a Life Events Delivery Manager to lead on the delivery of Met Baby and Job Share programmes. This is a key role in supporting parents and carers across the Met, helping them to balance their working lives with family responsibilities, and ensuring that our flexible working and parental support schemes are consistent, inclusive and accessible.

You’ll co-ordinate the day-to-day running of these programmes, working with colleagues and external partners, driving engagement through clear communication, and ensuring services are delivered to a high standard.

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference to the experience of colleagues at one of the UK’s largest employers, while building your skills in programme delivery, stakeholder engagement and inclusive policy development.

This job is likely to grow in responsibility and will include additional duties such as Job Evaluation.

What you’ll do

  • Lead the roll-out of Job Share across the remaining units of the Met.
  • Manage the Met Baby programme, including KIT/SPLIT days and related parental support initiatives.
  • Build strong relationships with HR, Met Families networks, B/OCU leads and external partners.
  • Attend and contribute to the monthly Parental Working Group (PWG) meetings.
  • Promote awareness of Job Share and Met Baby via a Met-wide communications plan.
  • Monitor completion and quality of RA6s.
  • Maintain the Job Share and Met Baby SharePoint sites.
  • Use data and feedback to monitor effectiveness and identify improvements.
  • Manage appeals relating to Job Share and respond to queries on both programmes.

What we can offer you

You’ll also enjoy excellent benefits, including:

  • 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays (rising to 33 days after 5 years’ service)
