Job Title: Head of Technology Integration

Salary: The starting salary is £90,336, which includes allowances totalling £2,928.

The salary is broken down as £87,408 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £96,341 Plus, a location allowance of £1,928 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.

Location: The primary Met Location for this role is Bow. Travel across the Met Estate, to attend meetings as required by the business, is expected.

Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT)

The mission of Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) is to provide the Met with information (and specifically data), communications and technology to help frontline officers and Met staff do their jobs more efficiently, in order to deliver the New Met for London plan. In other words, DDaT is about “passionately delivering trusted technology for precise data driven policing”.

As well as keeping up to speed with developments in technology and making recommendations for new equipment and systems that will help modernise policing, DDaT also comprises the Data Office which:

  • Owns and drives the data compliance and analytics agenda.
  • Brings together the accountabilities that are currently dispersed across the Met business areas.
  • Consolidates and further develops existing Met data and insight services.
  • Enables data sharing and collaboration to serve the public and external partners.

Job Purpose

The Head of Technology Integration is a Senior Management role in DDaT and will develop and implement the ICT project and programme Technology Integration strategy and policy across the multi-vendor SDIM and Solution Provider environment. Successful and effective implementation of the Technology Integration strategy ensures that new and amended ICT systems, configurations, packages and services are integrated to deliver a joined up user experience across the Met ICT applications.

Key Role Responsibilities

  • Creates and develops the Solution Delivery Technology Integration Strategy and Policies aligned with Service Delivery operational standards and business functional standards.
  • Ensures that the SDIM establishes and manages a cost effective Technology Integration delivery service to minimise the proliferation of point to point solutions across the Met information and application infrastructure.
  • Work with projects and programmes and with Enterprise Architecture to develop a Technology Integration roadmap to drive out dependencies and priorities across the project and programmes.
  • Work with the SDIM and Solution Providers to ensure that new and amended systems, configurations, packages and services integrate using the standard platform and the development and release processes and tools comply with Met standards.
  • Establish and management of Technology Integration related performance management, reporting, risk management and governance processes in the Solution Delivery ecosystem.
  • Assesses suppliers’ integration capabilities and drives creation of integrated solutions.
  • The roleholder will need to resolve conflicts and problems in relation to Technology Integration across the business, the suppliers, the projects and the service delivery organisation.

Vetting Clearance

For this role the Vetting Clearance is Force Clearance Level, Recruitment Vetting (RV), and National Security Vetting (NSV) Level, Counter Terrorism Check (CTC).

Hybrid Working
