ERSOU - CTP - Sergeant - Border Policing Harwich Port
An opportunity has arisen for the post of Sergeant within CT policing borders at Harwich Ports Part of your duties will be to manage a border policing team dealing with intelligence relating to Counter Terrorism, Domestic Extremism and other associated ERSOU-CTP matters across the eastern region.Key responsibilities:
Manage a team of staff responding to national alerts and partner requests. Ensure all aspects of Border Policing operations, within the area of responsibility are compliant with the National Standards of Intelligence Management (NSIM). This will include working in collaboration with the Fixed Intelligence Management Unit (FIMU) holding regional responsibility for all intelligence received.
Quality assure the use of Border policing powers, specifically Schedule 7 of TACT 2000 and Schedule 3 CTBSA 2019. This assurance will include proportionate and justified use of police powers in accordance with the codes of practice. Ensure appropriate use of digital device examination and baggage searches during Schedule 7 / 3 examinations. Quality assure written products (Ports Intelligence Reports) arising from police engagement.
Monitor the use of resources and provide records of team performance in respect of staff management. Develop the knowledge and skills of both team and individuals to ensure the best possible results at work by identifying needs, planning their development, and using a variety of activities to improve performance. Manage teams and individuals to agree short, medium, and long-term objectives. Develop associated plans, monitor and evaluate performance to ensure that organisational objectives are achieved.
Conduct intelligence driven briefing / tasking together with debriefing when appropriate to the duties performed and in accordance with organisational policy / procedure.
Produce operational plans as required and ensure they are ethical, compliant with legislation / policy / procedure and meet best practice.
