Purpose of the role:
To support the Head of Communications and Engagement on the delivery of a high-quality bilingual communication and engagement strategy for the OPCC using digital and traditional communication methods. Overseeing day-to-day management of the website for the OPCC, the design, configuration, updates, archiving, creating new forums as well as other communications both internal and external as requested.
Minimum Criteria for the role:
The role requires applicants who can demonstrate (with evidence) skills in the following areas:
- Educated to degree level in a relevant subject or possess an equivalent amount of relevant proven work experience.
- Proven relevant, practical experience in a community engagement role.
- Experience of maintaining a corporate identity and consistent brand through conforming to guidelines and deploying an appropriate tone of voice in communications.
- Experience of working with diverse audiences, especially hard to reach groups.
- An understanding of policing, politics and current affairs and how government operates, or willingness to build on knowledge.
- Proven relevant practical experience in a communications and engagement role and the ability to be able to demonstrate this in relation to both internal and external customers.
- The interpersonal skills and integrity necessary to gain and sustain the confidence of the Police and Crime Commissioner, members of staff with the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner, North Wales Police, partner organisations and the community.
- Ability to maintain partner relationships and work to often tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of Microsoft applications.
- Practical photography and videography skills and an understanding of production tools.
- A flair for design and a willingness to experiment with new communications methods depending on the audience and aim.
- Possess an understanding and awareness of the varied communities of North Wales and an eagerness to engage and communicate with them on policing issues.
