The Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner (PFCC) for Essex is seeking an exceptional individual to be his new Deputy PFCC, for a fixed term until the end of his current term of office. 

 

This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to the communities of Essex.  The Deputy PFCC will support the Commissioner in his ambitious programme of public service transformation, policy development, support to victims and public engagement. They will play a key role in delivering the Police and Crime Plan and Fire and Rescue Plan, deputising for the PFCC at a wide range of events, supporting the PFCC in holding the Chief Constable and Chief Fire Officer to account, and working with local partners to build further on the significant improvements that have been made to policing and fire and rescue services across Essex over recent years.  They will also work with the PFCC in developing and implementing national policy and programmes to benefit our residents.

 

The successful candidate will be driven, politically experienced and have a clear commitment to public service and delivering the vision of the PFCC.  They will share the values of the PFCC in relation to integrity, accountability and commitment.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience of and achievement in managing complex programmes and working across a wide range of senior stakeholders to deliver results.
  • Strategic experience in the political, public, not for profit or commercial sectors, and a previous successful professional career in a relevant field.
  • Political awareness 

 

Our Location 

Officers are based at Kelvedon Park, which provides onsite parking opportunities. The PFCC offers agile working which designates that certain roles can offer flexibility in terms of place of work, including some home working.
