Forensic Case Management Officer
Forensic Services are seeking to recruit to one Part time permanent position (18.125 hours) for a Forensic Case Management Officer. How these hours are spread across the week is negotiable.
The successful candidate will act as the centralised point of contact for any aspects of forensic examination to be undertaken by external Forensic Service providers. The successful applicant will form part of a small team responsible for assessing and authorising requests from investigating officers, liaising with scientific experts, providing advice and setting strategies for complex scientific analysis of exhibits. They will also help manage the Forensic Services Contracts with external Forensic companies on behalf of the Force.
Applicants must be able to provide evidence relating to all of the essential criteria in the associated job description including, but not limited to, the following;
Experience working within a scientific support discipline.
Relevant academic/professional qualifications such as science degree, Diploma in Scientific Support Skills, Forensic Science Society Diploma or National Vocational Qualification or any other similar relevant qualifications.
A wide-ranging awareness of forensic analysis, procedures and practices.
A knowledge of the criminal law as it applies to the scientific support field.
This role is hybrid, however, whilst in training the post holder will be expected to be in the office at all times.
The post holder may be expected to participate in the on-call rota in the furure however there are no expectations of this at present.
