The Finance department has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Assistant Business Accountant to join our dynamic team. This permanent position is well suited to an individual that is looking to advance their career in Management Accounting and gain hands-on experience in a thriving and supporting workplace.
Based within the Management Accounting/Business Partnering team, you will work closely with our Business Accountants & Business Partners to achieve the force objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records and systems
- Analyse budget variances and prepare clear, evidence-based reports
- Support Business Accountants and Partners with financial analysis
- Manage Apprenticeship Levy & secondment records and projections
- Contribute to ad-hoc projects and long-term financial planning
- Liaise professionally with internal and external stakeholders
What We’re Looking For
- Studying towards AAT Level 4 or equivalent
- Strong Excel and financial systems skills
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail
- Effective communicator with a proactive approach
- Understanding of public sector finance and budget setting (or willingness to learn)
