Role purpose:

To provide a response to calls for service in order to prevent or detect offences, preserve life, keep the peace and enhance the quality of life of the community.  To work as part of the PVP team involved in the investigation and the detection of crime ensuring that harm is prevented and ensuring that the welfare of Vulnerable people is paramount consideration at all times.  The post holder will be responsible for partnership risk management and information sharing within Humberside Police. They will report to the Vulnerability Managers and manage strategy discussions, information sharing and partnership meetings relating to children and Vulnerable adults.  They will take the lead in managing the Pit Stop process and identifying themes/trends to direct early intervention and preventative work within Humberside.

Role Responsibility:

  • Maintaining information systems for vulnerable children and adults coming to police notice or potentially at risk and ensuring data quality is of a consistently high standard.
  • Liaising with partner agencies to ensure that efforts to safeguard vulnerable people and manage offending behaviour are undertaken in a holistic way, ensuring that the needs of the victim are at the heart of the process and that all elements of risk are managed effectively.
  • Conduct research, and risk assessments where relevant, on the following areas of business, ensuring that information is shared with relevant partner agencies to safeguard vulnerable adults and children: SRA's, MARAC, DVDS, CSODS, Police Checks, ICPC, strategy meetings.
  • Ensuring that risks to the Force/Command which may affect its ability to provide business as usual now or in the future are identified and escalated to their line manager or local Risk Champion at the earliest opportunity.
  • Accesses, researches and maintains relevant force information systems used within the PVP Unit, utilising information and intelligence to ensure that opportunities to safeguard individuals and manage offending behaviour are maximised, ensures that data quality on the appropriate systems is kept to the highest standard, taking remedial action as appropriate.
  • Maintains a high level of knowledge and understanding of legislation, Force policy and ACPO guidelines and procedures in relation to the investigation.
  • Liaises with and develops co-operative relationships with other agencies concerned with safeguarding and vulnerable person’s welfare.

Relocation:

Humberside Police offer relocation/removal expenses of up to a maximum £8000 to transferring officers who live outside the force area and at least 50 miles from their permanent place of work.

Eligible Criteria:

To be eligible to transfer to Humberside Police, you must:

  • Be a current serving officer in a Home Office force
  • Have no outstanding discipline or integrity issues
  • Have resided in the UK for three years immediately prior to submitting your application, or able to provide a Certificate of Good Conduct from the relevant country
  • Have successfully completed your probationary period with your Force prior to submitting your application

Due to the changes to entry routes for police officers and IPLDP no longer being an accredited training course, at this time we are unable to accept applications from police officers from Non- Home Office forces.   The reason for this is due to these officers requiring initial training which is now unable under the new programme.  We hope to find a solution as soon as possible.
