Job Title: MetCC Area Delivery Lead

Salary: The starting salary is £59,839, which includes allowances totalling £2,928.

The salary is broken down as £56,911 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £69,342. Plus, a location allowance of £1,928 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.

Location: Bow, Hendon, Lambeth

 

Met Command and Control (MetCC) provides London with its police response service, handling some 13,000 emergency and non-emergency phone calls and 12,000 interactions via our digital platforms 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Specialist police communications support is also provided for some 500 large-scale public events that take place across the capital each year. Naturally, this means we have a fast-paced dynamic environment, where no two days will be the same.

The Area Delivery Leads (often referred to as the Centre Managers) will ensure that our people are well-led, equipped and supported, championing difference and diversity of thought to create an environment to thrive.

The role holders will influence performance across Business Groups, by collaborating with Front Line Policing (FLP) Superintendents to improve processes and performance across each of the BCU’s.

The Area Delivery Leads will also be responsible for driving performance; maintaining a culture of learning and development, focusing on professionalism, welfare and attendance; ensuring staff have opportunities for lateral and promotional progression, to improve the overall OCU’s efficiency and effectiveness.

The role holders will have direct line management of the Operational Duty Officers within First Contact and as senior line management for all operational staff at their respected Contact Centre.

You will be the final point of escalation and decision maker for operational and staff related matters within First Contact at one of the three MetCC Contact Centres in Bow, Hendon and Lambeth.

The role holders have accountability to ensure that all operational functions of Command and Control within their respective Contact Centre as part of the “Critical National Infrastructure” remains functional to meet the expectations and needs of the public and the organisation.

You will perform the role of the Premises Fire Lead (PFL) for each of their respective buildings.

You will also be asked to attend a face-to-face interview, which will include completing a 10 minute presentation or draft a briefing note on a given topic/in-tray exercise.

Additional Information

Please note whilst your primary base will be at Bow for the immediate start, you will be required to regularly travel between all of the MetCC Contact Centres as and when required. You may also be required to work at another / various location(s) within the Metropolitan Police Service. This role is predominantly Monday to Friday, but you will also join the SLT on-call rota with the rest of the senior leadership team. On-call will involve occasional weekend working for which you will be financially compensated.

You do not need prior experience of MetCC, as we are looking for the successful candidate to display strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire a culture of organisational learning through personal development, with a commitment to improve operational effectiveness and increasing risk management capability within the OCU.
