Location: Head Office in Northallerton, with hybrid working arrangements including home working. 
Contract: Permanent.  Contractually employed by North Yorkshire Police

Hours: Full Time, Mon to Thurs 8.30am - 5pm and Fri 8.30am - 4.30pm

Salary: Scale 2-3: £23,286 - £25,626 based on 37 hours per week (Full time)
Closing Date: Friday 26th September at 5.00pm

Our Support Service functions work in collaboration across North Yorkshire Police and North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service, providing vital shared expertise to deliver efficient and effective service to our communities.

The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for Administrators to join our HR Team. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a fast-paced in-house HR team providing services to North Yorkshire Police (NYP) and North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service (NYFRS).

Our HR team has a number of Administrators, in departments such as Recruitment, HR Services, Training, Health & Safety and Health & Wellbeing. Administration is a key part of these teams and we are therefore recruiting for current and future opportunities. 

Our Administration roles are fast paced and rewarding, supporting many transactional functions for two emergency services.

Typical duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as the first point of contact for a range of HR queries, both via phone and email.
  • Providing administration support across many areas of the employee lifecycle, such as recruitment, maternity, paternity, health & wellbeing, flexible working, leavers.
  • Maintaining accurate HR systems and contractual documentation, ensuring the secure handling of sensitive and confidential information. 
  • Participating in HR project work.

  • Administration experience with high level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Office and other digital platforms
  • A self-starter with strong organisational skills who can prioritise work and multitask to achieve tight deadlines
