Catering Assistant
To carry out general catering duties such as the preparation, cooking following set recipes, display and service of food items and beverages. To undertake the general cleaning of equipment and storage/servery areas. Work to maintain high standards of hygiene, safety, service and quality at all times.
Demonstrate the force values at all times. All staff involved in carrying out functions in this role will do so in accordance with the principles of the Code of Ethics. The aim of the Code of Ethics is to support each member of the policing profession to deliver the highest professional standards in their service to the public.
CORE WORK AREAS:
- Prepare working, service and dining areas for food production and service.
- Assist with the preparation and presentation of food items and beverages including cooking tasks, maintaining high standards of hygiene and service and ensuring food displays are laid out and replenished as required.
- Serving of main meals during lunch service times.
- Preparing and garnishing food for hospitality catering.
- Actively promote a helpful and friendly style of service to customers thus ensuring that customer satisfaction is always maintained.
- Operate the till at service times. Assisting with the cashing up of the till.
- Clearing and cleaning of all service, preparation, and dining areas. Cleaning of equipment.
- Assisting with temperature recording and updating of records.
- Provision of catering for emergency and planned incidents as required. These could be out of normal working hours.
- The post holder will be required to undertake appropriate Food Safety and Health and Safety training.
- The post holder will be required to wear a uniform and appropriate footwear and hair protection.
