Senior Systems Administrator
The RoleTo ensure the development and maintenance of the Command & Control and associated IT systems used within the Communications Department. To provide advice and guidance on policy and practice and manage the implementation of new business process brought about by change. To be responsible for the production and provision of information regarding Communications systems.
What You’ll Do
To take the lead role in ensuring the integrity and security of the Communications operating systems (Command & Control and mapping) match the requirements for the Force, by controlling access permissions, conducting regular audits and providing system performance reports as required.
Ensure that regular audits and processes are undertaken by the team to ensure data protection compliance requirements are maintained. This will include responsibility for regular weeding of the systems via regular liaison with Senior Investigating Officers and Response Plan Owners.
Develop and update systems to take into account of National, Regional and local changes, ensuring that processes meet requirements and can be implemented in a timely manner. This will include liaising with I.T. managers and Training to coordinate the implementation of such.
To act as the Force Operational Lead for the use and management of the Communication systems, providing a point of contact for the Force Executive, Senior managers and External providers on related matters and to represent Durham Constabulary at external meetings on a local, regional and national level.
To provide resilience for systems administration as required to ensure that daily maintenance of systems data and users are maintained.
